Advisor / Freestyling since 2009
A technology leader and entrepreneur for more than 20 years, David Bill has been building and scaling innovative online services since the days of 300 baud modems and 20MB hard drives. As CTO/co-founder of enterprise social media startup CoTweet (acquired by ExactTarget) and CTO for Spinner.com (acquired by AOL), David delivered tremendously successful outcomes while inspiring teams and having fun along the way. He also co-founded Chirp.com (acquired by Comcast), and in the earliest days of the web helped build one of the world’s first massively multiplayer online gaming systems, The ImagiNation Network (acquired by AT&T). Those experiences have brought David a deep understanding of how to rapidly scale both technology stacks and organizations in the face of relentless change, a wisdom which he brings to the collection of fast-growing startups he currently advises, including Wanelo, Klout and LiveFyre.
When not taking on near-impossible technology challenges David indulges his passion for food, his love of travel, and hacks his home lighting systems to provide ambient information. He can generally be found discussing neuroscience and philosophy at whichever San Francisco restaurant has opened most recently. He holds a number of patents and a doctorate in foosball.
